curbing dirty politics

today's already the big day for the elections for the barangay officials and sk officers. i dunno with you guys, but i was too lazy to have myself registered as a voter. besides, i thought of it as just one way of giving those dirty old politicians the chance to corrupt our society. c'mon, giving out all those money just to get your vote w/c they're not even sure of they'll get??
but then again, i realized just at this moment that life is so hard right now. money is a necessity - it is a need. even i need money. 'coz you see, my stipend's already used up because of the numerous dues we had (particularly the yearbook). but then i've got some stuff to buy, too. so just imagine the amount of money you'd get out of the politicias' stupidity... i think i'd be able to get almost (more or less) the same amount of money as my stipend!! so maybe vote buying won't be totally THAT bad... just grab the money and run away with it!! haha. but that's just a thought!! i know life is so hard right now. but we have to earn things right. we have to do the correct thing. what we'll get out of vote buying is just an "instant prize." it's just temporary. soon enough, the money you got would be used up. soon enough, you'd all realize a great loss. some politicians say they'd do these and that if they'd win; that is if they won through their VOTE BUYING! but look at the bigger picture: you're not sure if they'd really win or not; you're not sure if they'd really be effective; you're not sure if they'd actually stick to their words; you're not sure if they won't corrupt you by getting even more money from you than they had given you by vote buying; and you're not sure if you'd actually have a future to look up to. guys, be realistic and ideal here. don't get carried away with some politicians' dirty tricks. you don't want a corrupted society. you don't want a corrupted future. we all don't. what we want is a bright future to look up to. i do realize that i should've taken the initiative to register and vote RIGHT. but now it seems to be too late. now i ask you guys to vote for who really deserves it (or at least who you think deserves it. if you see that that other guy is better than your cousin, then vote for him!). but fine, take the money but vote right! (haha. wow, i actually cared about politics!!) Labels: dirty politics |
