shooting star!!
Sunday, November 11, 2007, 11:41 AM
last night was awesome!! it was my cousin's celebration of her debut, but today's actually her birthday (same as with my bestfriend.. happy birthday to the both of you!!). we partied last night, drank, sang, and danced! and i'm glad i was one of the emcees! :)
actually, the party got a bit delayed because of me. yes, i admit, it was because of me. apparently, i arrived late from the press conference in merida vocational school, merida, leyte, although i left earlier than my other comrades. i was supposed to leave at around 1 pm, but then a teacher from area 1 let me join the competition for scriptwriting/radio broadcasting. then and there, i wasn't able to decline (it's not evryday that you are given this opportunity, and also, the teacher looked strict.hihi). so we prepped. she was indeed a bit strict, but she was ok. i mean, it was obvious that she was very supportive -and i'm glad she was. i met new friends, too: victorino "vickya" (as s/he wanted to be called) and normie from tanauan; and claire and m... (i forgot, wah, i'l just edit this soon) from palo. kay and i were the other two members of the team. right now, i'm clueless as to how we did in the competition since i left earlier and my other companions didn't wait for the result. :) so when i left, i felt a bit sad that i wouldn't be leaving with them, that i wouldn't be able to witness the closing program and see who wins, and mainly because i was going home by myself. in fact, several teardrops ran down my cheeks when i got on the bus and bid mam esperas adieu. it was a lonely trip. i had no one to talk to, and i was just staring blankly at the trees that were passed by the bus and on my phone, waiting for someone to text me. but my loneliness suddenly allayed because of the texts of my fellow scholars in merida. they said i placed 7th in newswriting, kay grabbed 6th place in copyreading/headline writing in filipino, ena and kevin got 3rd and 2nd in cartooning in english and filipino, respectively. i was even smiling while reading the texts (thanks guys for the updates!). i got even happier when they said we bagged all first places in all group categories for the paper, coming out as the best schol paper for the dsspc! wee. go go scinet!! :) then again, i felt down when i arrived in ormoc. this time, i had no one to bid good-bye. but it was ok. at least i learned how to go home by myself, aight? haha. the trip home from ormoc was was cold, and boring. so back to the topic (sorry, i strayed away too much). i arrived late. the party was supposed to start at six, and i arrived at exactly 6 pm. i rushed to the bathroom, took a shower, then changed immediately for the debut. then, we left right on for the house of my cousin to have myself fixed up (make up and all that blah). we ate a bit, then left immediately for COA (where the debut was to be held). there were already a lot of people. and the time was around passed 7. my cousin said that it was normal to be late for she herself attended a debut that was supposed to start at 6 but instead started at 8! we kicked off immediately for we were pretty sure they were already hungry -and i mean really hungry. so there, we started off late. but we all enjoyed. we were all camwhores there! pictures here and there! (i'l be posting them soon). we surprised ate kyra with phone calls from a friend and a special someone!! one more highlight i saw was when our debutante cried a bit when marko gave his testimony!! (aww, how sweet of her li'l bro!!) we drank some mixes, too! so yummy- sunrise, sex in the city, etc! we also sang a lot, and danced a lot. but the music wasn't that good. but what then is the relevance of my title? well, as we were outside, enjoying the clear sky with all the stars twinkling in the black background of the sky, a stream of light suddenly appeared for a split second, and disappeared. i felt really happy, it was my first time to see it. a wish i made, as i saw-- a shooting star. :) Labels: debut, press conference, shooting star |
