great two weeks. haha.
tagaytay was freakin' cold. i could still remember the feeling while riding their fast tricycles back and forth tagaytay haven and the inn we stayed in. it was if ice were forming through my pores.. COLD.. which is why this damn weather in tacloban isn't much of a hustle for me. it's coolness is not as much as that in tagaytay. ok, 'nuf said about the weather. tagaytay was a nice place - with nice people: really friendly and approachable. too bad we didn't get the chance to roam around the city though. the intel facilitators were... disappointed and... overprotective. disappointed in a sense that we couldn't follow instructions, like we were as if "grade two students"; disappointed in a sense that the intel wasn't that organized. i'd say it's their fault. and it all points back to the venue itself. wrong choice of venue, if you ask me. gym's big but not enough seats. garden's beautiful but yes, not enough space and seats. eating was a problem, somehow. now going back, they were overprotective in a sense that... well, CHECK MY PICTURES here. anyway, despite all these, the intel was fun. i personally had a great time. it was a chance to meet new people, particularly fellow pisay students! and amazingly, we got a chance to interact with diliman "relatives". if not for one of the pisay-davao students, kiboy, who actually spoke BAD of the diliman students right in front of a diliman adviser, we wouldn't have had met them. well, of course he didn't mean to speak bad of them in front of the adviser. it was just... unexpected. nwei, we also met mary ann, hyacinth, both from pisay-bicol (?) and two other from pisay-davao.. oh well, we won. it was announced during the prom. just then, juniors and seniors started flooding my inbox with congratulations and the like, not even knowing what place we got. that night, i was just freezing outside at the balcony of our room. jim and i were there. we were pretty sad that we weren't in the prom, but already ok for the fact that we won. yah, we missed the prom, but i guess it was worth it.. oh well, i've realized that these kinds of experiences is just one of the few moments that we are given the chances to miss people and communicate with them no matter what. haha. phone calls, texting, etc.. it's heart warming actually that people seem to remember and try to reach out to you when you're not around (and vice versa). really nice... :) anyway, it seemed like our school made such a big deal with our bagging of the 1st Grand Prize Winner title. made history? oh c'mon.. they even gave us this "party" with this cake with our names written all over it. haha. but if i knew, they just squeezed us in with ma'am de dios' birthday celebration. :) kidding. oh yeah, that reminds me. when we got home, we had to unpack all our blue magic shoppings and re.pack them into their respective paper bags. it was fun, we went to our house. and i went to school the next day as if i were santa claus, having all those pasalubong hanging all over my arms. cool? not really, it was tough and not to mention it attracts attention. oh well... speaking of pasalubong and stuff, we had to treat some of our friends 'coz we weren't able to bring them pasalubong. *** THREE CONSECUTIVE NIGHTS out of our house for dinner. wednesday at andoks for a treat, thursday at shakeys just because we wanted to. funny and embarrassing though; we actually FORGOT to pay for what we ate. we only realized it when we were three fourths way to where we usually pick a ride. we had to go back immediately and pay, otherwise we'd die of embarrassment and guilt. haha. and this night, back to andok's for another treat -- this time we were the ones treated. :) anyway, i'd say the past two weeks were awesome. 1 week out in manila/tagaytay, shopping or chillin' out -- literally; and another here in tacloban, with semi-special treatment (oh c'mon...) and unspoken rules of treating other people because of the "glory" we got. oh well, i'd still offer this to God. Thank God!! p.s. this post is actually pretty late. someone's celebrating a birthday today.. XD i aint editing this for now.. Labels: friends, intel philippine science fair, research |
