batch 2008 once again makes history in pisay-evc
Saturday, January 12, 2008, 8:26 PM
this is just cool! although the official results for the upcat weren't posted in the internet by up yet, someone wise enough thought of going to UP herself and taking pictures of the list of qualifiers of the exam posted there, and of course, posting them here on the internet. in fact, she's a multiply user: http://mycadaver.multiply.com/photos/album/15/UPCAT_result
however, when we looked at the pictures, they weren't what we expected. fine, just say it, feeler kami. we don't give a damn; point is, RAFAEL CHU, BILLY ESQUIVEL, or even ERWIN VILLEJO weren't on the passers list. (oi, waray may mahilaba it atay ha?? haha) my dad had my cousin in manila check my name earlier before we ourselves checked for online updates. my dad said i was on the pending list. fine, ok. at least i was pending. so when we didn't fine the names mentioned above in the passers list, fine, we checked the pending list. and tada! PENDING! ALL (or maybe almost all) BATCH 2008 were on the PENDING CASES. If you don't find your name in the list of qualifiers, check the list of Pending Cases. This is a list of applicants who failed to submit all the required documents/credentials when they filed their applications to take the UPCAT. The UPCAT results of these applicants cannot be released until the required documents/credentials are completed and processed. If you find your name on this list, you should immediately contact Office of Admissions to find out what document/s or other credential/s you need to submit so that your UPCAT results can be released. woooh. this is just awesome! now we get the last priority for admissions! and we're not even sure if we'd be admitted. what we're sure, at the very least, for now is that we passed. merely passed. we might lack a lot of requirements. wooh. but guys, let's think positive. at least the school knows about this issue now.. it's their's to handle. so let's not let this thing bother us when we take the dost exam tomorrow.. and mind you, when we enroll in up with a dost scholarship, we get full scholarships! (i think..).. but again, let's not be bothered; i know it would be hard though.. :D well anyway, batch 08! we're so great!! we made history once again! walang pumasa! lahat pending!! :)) Labels: batch 2008, pending, pshs-evc, upcat |

good LUCK is so not equal to God bless
Friday, August 03, 2007, 8:15 PM
"good luck!" is the usual phrase one would give and get during exams, or during competitions, rendering of speeches or whatever similar event. i know, i know, we "need" luck to do well in whatever we're doing. but is it really luck that we need?
we practice speeches for hours until we "run out of saliva" (in other words, feel thirsty), we study overnight for exams until we drop (and not to mention have two heavy eye bags!), and we practice for competition night and day until we end up sick of "over" fatigue!! and yet we still seek luck? no. we ought to seek guidance from the almighty. we've made tons of effort on those stuff that we need to do, which, in the first place by the way, was given to us by God! he blessed us with that, and we made our effort for it. then we ask for LUCK?! we need God's guidance, to help up make good in the exams, to ward us off of nervousness when we deliver our speeches, and to keep us focused in competitions. but, on the other hand, they say we need luck in the sense that what we studied for is what's going to appear in the exam. but i'd still consider this as a blessing. anyway, "good luck" and "God bless" just really don't mix. i somehow find it pathetic that we use them in the same sentence (i myself do so, and in fact, i just did! haha, joke joke joke). but really, luck is pure serendipity. God's blessing is different. it is divine, and he planned it for us. so we should seek his guidance and blessings in everything we do. hmm.. the upcat will commence in just a mere nine hours. for those who are taking the exam (that includes me!) GOD BLESS!! drown yourselves in prayer, but don't forget to do your part!! just do your best, as they say it, and God will do the rest!! and for those who believe in luck.. well, here goes.. GOOD LUCK! (: |
